What is "Reformed"?

“For it is by grace you have been saved,
through faith — and this is not from yourselves,
it is the gift of God —
not by works, so that no one can boast.”
(Ephesians 2:8,9)

The word "Reformed" in our name has deep meanings from a theological perspective. Books have been written about "The Reformed Faith" or "The Reformed Tradition". It is not our intent to make a profound statement in this time and place.

What is important and easy to grasp is the simple understanding that everyone strays from their path from time to time, and the church has been no exception. When the "Reformation" happened in the fifteen hundreds, the original intent was to make over the existing church... re-form it to what it should be. The Reformed Church comes out of that process.

We are formed and re-formed according to the Word of God. It is a continual process as we try to serve our God to the best of our abilities.
